Each year, in the UK alone, hundreds of dogs suffer or die because they’ve been left in hot cars.
They can’t open the windows. They can’t call for help.

The Deadly Truth
- On a 22°C (72°F) day, a car can reach 47°C (117°F) in under an hour.
- Dogs don’t sweat like humans – they overheat far more quickly.
- A dog left in a car can collapse, suffer brain damage, or die in under 30 minutes.
- Most deaths occur in summer… but any warm day can be fatal.
- Vets see five times more heat‑stroke cases during heatwaves – 25% fatal.

Here’s the thing – some people genuinely don’t realise how fast a car can heat up – or how dangerous that can be.
