Dogs In Hot Cars

🚫🐾 Don’t Let Them Die

Hot Car. Short Time. Hot Dog. Lifelong Regret.

Each year, in the UK alone, hundreds of dogs suffer or die because they’ve been left in hot cars.
They can’t open the windows. They can’t call for help.
YOU are their only chance.

Some die in as little as 20 minutes. Even with the windows cracked, even “just for a few minutes”.

It’s heartbreaking.
It’s preventable.
And right now — it’s not even illegal.

The Deadly Truth

  • On a 22°C (72°F) day, a car can reach 47°C (117°F) in under an hour.
  • Dogs don’t sweat like humans – they overheat far more quickly.
  • A dog left in a car can collapse, suffer brain damage, or die in under 30 minutes.
  • Most deaths occur in summer… but any warm day can be fatal.
  • Vets see five times more heat‑stroke cases during heatwaves – 25% fatal.

💔 Why We Care So Deeply

Here’s the thing – some people genuinely don’t realise how fast a car can heat up – or how dangerous that can be.

At time2letgo, we support people who’ve lost their beloved pets – and we know from personal experience how deep the grief runs. That’s why we speak up before tragedy strikes too.

Some people unknowingly think it’s okay to leave a dog in the car if they’ve cracked a window or parked in the shade. But sadly, it can still be incredibly dangerous – especially with today’s unpredictable weather.

💬 We’ve all made mistakes – what matters now is what we do moving forward.

So we’re supporting the campaign below. Not to shame loving and responsible dog owners, but to raise awareness and save lives.

🐶 It’s Time to Make It Illegal

A growing campaign on Change.org is demanding that the UK government make it a specific criminal offence to leave a dog unattended in a car when the temperature exceeds 22 degrees Celsius.

This law could save countless lives. Dogs are family. They deserve to be safe.

Help spread the word and protect dogs across the UK. If this post saves just one life, it’s worth it.

They trust us with their lives. Let’s never betray that trust. 💞 Thank you. ❤️
